Ever since NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION released its feature on almost forgotten indie-bands of the Mid 00’s two years ago we asked ourselves if we might ever see the overdue solo debut by former THE LONG BLONDES singer KATE JACKSON. Now, eight years after the underrated band split up the charismatic leading lady finally breaks the radio silence and returns with British Road Movies, her solo debut.
The album will be released via Hoo Ha Records on May 20 and a first song from it called Metropolis is out now. The album was recored with former SUEDE member Bernard Butler. According to a freshly released talk with The Quietus KATE JACKSON started working on British Road Movies years ago but took a break from music to follow a career as a painter in Rome. We’re glad to have her back anyway and Metropolis is right here for your delight.
