Adna - 2014

The Swedish singer ADNA, who currently lives in Berlin, is a special one. A newcomer who should have your attention. Since the release of her single Night NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION has ADNA on the list. At SPOT Festival the artist showed what she can – and this is quite a lot. Let us introduce: Adna Kadic aka

SPOT Festival is a starting point for what comes next: so what are your plans? What comes next?
I’m not sure yet, but I hope I can continue on creating and releasing music, because I really enjoy doing this. I’ve just got a great team with people working with me and together we’ll try to make this solo project work. I’m finishing a second album right now and I have ideas for a few more, so we’ll see. I want to try out this going solo-thing.

How would you describe your music to a deaf person?
Quite soft and melancholic, I think.

What is your main motivation when you write new songs?
Maybe the constant need of improving myself.

Would you rather whisper or shout for the rest of your life?
Whisper. I’m not good at shouting or even using my stomach while talking.

Would you rather be a dragon or have a dragon?
I’d love to be a dragon, sounds impossible and just amazing.

If you’d have to choose: which of your senses would you rather lose?
Tasting. So much of what we taste is in the smell anyway. Music, for me, comes so much from seeing, hearing and feeling that I think I need it all.

The music & culture industry is currently about to redefine itself. Do you feel like being completely and utterly at the its mercy, or should things be seen as a chance for artists?
I think it maybe depends on how you see yourself as an artist and which intensions you have. The industry will continue on redefining, I think, and as long as you know what you want with your music and you’re working with people who want the same thing as you do, then I don’t think you need to put much weight in that. At least I try to think that way.
