Stockholm’s VANILLA EDIT dropped her debut single Little Lies at the tail end of summer 2015, and we were so taken with its subtle, dreamy pop that we included it amongst our picks for the Amazing Sweden playlist. We’re therefore very happy here at NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION to bring you the exclusive premiere of a new remix of the track, by fellow Swede and labelmate AUGUST LANDELIUS.
The producer plays with the hazy, blurry atmosphere of the original, giving it a new dubby sound with the addition of warped beats and glitches. LANDELIUS says:
‘I tried to make a new, a bit different, version of the track by only using the vocals from the original track. I’ve been working on the remix for a while and it felt like I managed to shine another light on it. It’s a fairly dark remix so maybe ‘shining another light’ on it is the wrong choice of words. I’m very glad VANILLA EDIT likes it. It’s important to me that the creator likes the result when I’m doing a remix.’
