Sound of the day: Bloodgroup – Nothing Is Written In The Stars
Icelandic alternative electropop band BLOODGROUP has just released the track Nothing Is Written In The Stars off their third studio album, Tracing Echoes. The track capitalizes on the moody soundscape that has become the linchpin of the band’s style. The song addresses whether or not we are slaves to our own destiny. The vocals are weighty, atmospheric and conjure a sense of desperate longing. The video for Nothing Is Written In The Stars perfectly complements the moody tone of the track with it’s dark storyline. Masterfully directed by musician and short film-maker Heiðrik á Heygum it’s more mini film noire than mere video. The plot centers around an obsessive female voyeur and shocking lengths she takes to acquire the object of her fixation.
