Ever since he left the stage back in 2004 the whole world is wondering if the almighty DAVID BOWIE will ever perform new live shows. He didn’t make any public appearance promoting 2013’s comeback LP The Next Day and it looks as if this isn’t about to change. Isle of Wight boss John Giddings, who booked BOWIE‘s final UK show back in 2004, is sure that Ziggy Stardust retired.
In a new interview with Music Week the longtime promoter of the artist states: ‘David is one of the best artists I’ve ever worked with but every time I see him now, before I even speak to him, he goes, ‘I’m not touring’ and I say, ‘I’m not asking.” He continues: ‘He has decided to retire and, like Phil Collins, you can’t demand these people go out there again and again and again. I’m really pleased and proud that the last show he ever did in the UK was the 2004 Isle Of Wight Festival.’
Well, never say never but it feels like we accepted the fact anyway, right? Last week BOWIE shared new music in the form of Blackstar, written for the forthcoming TV show The Last Panthers.
