International Women’s Day has been around since 1909, when huge shifts in cultural and political thought encouraged people to rethink the role of women in our society. Should they get the right to vote? Should they work alongside men? Should they be allowed to wear pants? Within that revolution, another, louder one took root: women in music. So today, let’s remember all the brave ladies, dames, girls and grrls who picked up a guitar, grabbed some drumsticks, and put their lyrics out in the world. In honor, here is a track from Danish stoner rock trio BABY IN VAIN, playing this year’s SPOT festival in Arhus, Denmark.
