A sad day for all fans of beloved Danish band EFTERKLANG. As the trio now announced on its homepage it looks like there won’t be a future for the popular band from Copenhagen. The group will play one final show on February the 26th in their home town Sønderborg, together with the local symphonic orchestra. After this it looks like the band will part ways. Although they did not specifically mention the words “split” or “hiatus” it sounds pretty definite: “It will be the last concert with Efterklang as you and we know it. We are not sure what happens after this concert. It is time to reflect and time to move forward. We want to fundamentally change what it means to be Efterklang and how we operate, create and perform.”

So, nothing is set in stone yet. In an interview with NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION last year the band already hinted a longer break and the need for a new philosophy after touring so long with 2012’s album Piramida. The future of EFTERKLANG is more uncertain than ever but we really hope to see these guys back in some form, some day. Thank you for these great songs.
