London-based duo FORMATION should be on your radar by now and if not, 2017 is about to change that. Will and Matt Ritson already supported FOALS and JAGWAR MA and gave us sweet singles like All The Rest Is Noise and now they are preparing their anticipated debut album. Look At The Powerful People arrives on March the 24th and the first teasers already get us quite excited.

The title-track Powerful People arrives today in the form of a music video, directed by a familiar face. None other than Mike Skinner (aka THE STREETS) took care of the clip which features British motorcycle gangs performing side-by-side with FORMATION. A second video arrives via A Friend, a bloody but also surprisingly sensual clip. You can watch them both below.

Will Ritson on the title of Look At The Powerful People:

‘The album title refers to the moment when everyone has realised the secret power we have when we’re all together. For me, it’s a power that relates to the security that I found when I was young and hanging with my outsider friends. We had no money and no scene but we didn’t care because we had each other. We began to ask questions of the world and started to rebel about what we could or couldn’t do or say.’

The music itself is a sweet combination of catchy pop songwriting, old Manchester Rave-infected grooves and intelligent lyrics. It’s a 21st century update of everything one might have come to love in British music over the past decades.
