Le Very

If you expect the usual capital pop from Berlin based LE VERY, think again. Their debut single Playground shook the scene in 2014, gaining them a support slot for ZOOT WOMAN‘s tour through Europe. In our humble opinion, they also wrote one of the 12 summer hits you almost missed. Now their debut album V is finally out via Zukunftsmusik/Rough Trade and in order to gain some more informations on LE VERY we forced them into the shiny corset of our Introducing section. Read on and learn about fantasy, vision and the importance of amateurism in pop music.

Sitting on a tree on a holiday in Bavaria singing Sun Of Jamaica by Goombay Dance Band

Would you rather be a dragon or have a dragon?

We want to be Emilia Clark’s baby dragons…

If your music would score a movie what sort of movie would that be? What actors can you imagine playing in it?

It would be an epic drama on an earthlike planet, far out in space with a fantastic urban wilderness setting, a cryptic plot and the display of some pretty obvious emotions. Starring Javier Bardem, Michelle Monaghan, Steve Coogan, Tilda Swinton, Josh Brolin, William H. Macy, Michael Cera, Ray Winstone, Martin Freeman, Julianne Moore and Helen Mirren.

If this whole musician thing won’t workout – what would be your alternative dream job?

Farmer, Young Fathers, Cook…? I guess we would just stick to music. We never really had a choice.

Tell us a few mostly unknown artist we should definitely check out

The music industry is changing quite heavily these days. What’s the best and what’s the worst part of these changes, in your eyes?

The best part is that everyone is easily connected and enabled to create music. One major influence in pop music to us is amateurism, that’s where the sparks fly. The worst part is that many musicians have to sell out if they want to make a living out of it.

Unleash your inner Burt Bacharach and complete the following sentence… “What the world needs now is…”

…still Love! Silence and wilderness.

What role play ‘hope’ and ‘passion’ in your life?

Hope is another word for fantasy and vision. As a dreamer you are nothing but hopeful. Passion is the VERY source of music and the blood that runs through our veins.
