Context?
This new clip from indie pop outfit PASSION PIT maybe sets the tone for their soon to be released record Kindred. Or maybe not? The tune itself might be uplifting, the video is slightly more ambiguous. Guess we’ll have to wait and see what the full record will be like. The follow-up to 2012’s Gossamar will be released on April 21 via Columbia and has already been teased by this very track, Lifted Up (1985), as well as by Where The Sky Hangs.
Why should I watch this?
Because it delicately reminds us of the recesses in the strange world that’s called nightlife. No one but frontman Michael Angelakos himself is fighting his way through several and easily exchangeable dancefloor settings. Be it a moshpit, a rave or a fancy indie party – there can be a certain sense of feeling misplaced or even lost within these sceneries. But if you’re in the right mood, this clip might also just give you the little extra kick to go on and start something fun.
Anything else?
Nope. Maybe just take some time to reflect the callousness of nightlife once and again but mostly don’t forget to have a good time in it. The music of PASSION PIT is certainly a good compagnon for that, so keep up the anticipation for their new record Kindred. So do we.
