The long awaited forthcoming album The Endless River by legendary prog-rock heroes PINK FLOYD will also be the band’s final release of new music. In an interview with BBC 6 Music David Gilmour and Nick Mason confirmed it by saying: ‘This is the last thing that’ll be out from us.’ Gilmour continues: ‘I’m pretty certain that there will not be a follow up to this. Polly, my wife, thought that would be a very good lyrical idea to go out on. It’s a shame but this is the end.’
One of the reasons might also be the passing of Richard Wright who died back in 2008. A few weeks back former member Roger Waters also confirmed that he won’t be part of the album as he left the band back in 1985, leaving Gilmour and Mason being the only left members of PINK FLOYD. As previously reported, The Endless River will feature material that was written and recorded 1993, during the sessions for the group’s 1994 album Division Bell.
The final PINK FLOYD album will be released on November the 10th. Find a first full-length song from it, Louder Than Words, right here.
