God only knows when we will finally see a new PORTISHEAD studio album but today we finally get new music from Beth Gibbons and Co. in the form of a surprising cover version. The band reworked the pop classic S.O.S. by Swedish legends ABBA for Ben Wheatley’s film High Rise. The adaptation of the JG Ballard novel was released to cinemas back in March 18 and the cover was specifically recorded for the film while marking the first new PORTISHEAD song since 2009.

Now, the group also released a simple but effective music video for the track. It is dedicated to the recently killed British MP Jo Cox by quoting her words

‘We have far more in common than which divides us.’
