For almost one decade Danish band THE RUMOUR SAID FIRE are one of the country’s hidden treasures when it comes to honest and pure indie-rock melodies. And in the wake of their forthcoming third album Crush (out on April 28 via popup-records) we’d like warm your hearts and minds once again for these four gentlemen as we exclusively debut their new music video Television Personaities right here.

It’s an uplifting piece of old-fashioned but timeless independent rock and according to THE RUMOUR SAID FIRE the track is ‘about living life here and now, face to face, skin to skin with your closest one.’ But it’s also about the fact that it is quite hard to actually achieve that in real life as the group explains:

‘It’s about growing up, putting on different types of masks to define what you are. It’s about never getting there and realizing that it’s ok, who cares? Let’s whistle about it, let’s pretend to be real. We don’t want to take over the world, we just want to have real experiences with the ones we love. We want to have some real fun.’

Aside of its exisential subject the video, directed by Frederik Valentin unfolds its magic in a more lo-fi-looking charm. Here’s how they describe the clip:

Imagine you’re watching a behind the scene documentary to a semi occult 1995 tv drama and the director tryes to fake it through a worn out sony handycam and realizes that the 20 euro bubble machine he bought on ebay is equally photogenic to the band.

Well, we can’t think of anything to add here so we hope you’re having a good time watching this one.
