NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION is going to be at the festival, lurking around, meeting artists and enjoying the spectacular scenery called ‘City of Steel’. Huge coal excavators around the area make sure, that the hidden child in everyone is ready to play.
For three days, passionate Indie-Lovers and enthusiastic Electro-Fans are going to put on their dancing shoes to join a festival together. Far away from mainstream the MELT! FESTIVAL still has the reputation of having an excellent line-up, that has always been more understatement than everything else. The festival area goes hand in hand with its electrifying choice of music and visitors. Usually it’s a mix of hip people wearing the latest fashion trends and the ones who just want to enjoy music that is on the verge of becoming the next big thing, just before everyone else is aware of it. But the MELT! booking crew made sure to have some big names on the list as well.
Therefore it is hard to highlight the jewels but here are some of ours: PORTISHEAD as well as RÖYKSOPP & ROBYN are exclusively at MELT! FESTIVAL and your only chance to see live this year in Germany and with FOUR TET, MODERAT, SBTRKT and METRONOMY joining the line up that should be enough name dropping for now.
Let’s talk serious! The hidden treasures, NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION is so excited about are definitely discoesque TENSNAKE and newcomer KIESZA. The list continues from singer-songwriter CHET FAKER, DARKSIDE (NICOLAS JAAR and multi-instrumentalist Dave Harrington) and queer rapper LE1F to SOHN, where synthesizer meets deep crispy voices.
Well, that sounds like quite an exotic mixture, which only can be topped with some icing on the cake aka OMAR SOULEYMAN, coming all the way from Syria mixing folk and electronica, challenging your inner belly dance princess.
