New month, new INTRODUCING show. The beloved concert series returns to Berlin on March 28 live on stage at The Reed, once again presented by NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION. Lovers of exciting new urban music will definitely enjoy these three picks which present and exciting mixture of pop, R&B and soul. As always you don’t need to buy a ticket for this fancy event as this remains a free ‘guestlist-only’ affair. More info at the bottom of this page. So, without further ado here’s what to expect.
ALLI NEUMANN
Like in many other countries Germany’s mainstream pop landscape is interspersed with shallow performancers and superficial string puppets and that’s only one reason why Alli Neumann is here to change the paradigm. Her alternative pop is cryptical, playful, loaded with message and attitude and ready to give German mainstream pop a different turn. She mainly does that in her native language but that shouldn’t stop you from appreciating that special talent.
MOLI
Belgian-born singer/songwriter MOLI and her unique vocal character inhabitt an environment of her own. There’s something quite unique and natural in her voice that immediately attracts the listener. Having relocated in Berlin last year she relased her first solo work in form of the Resume EP on Majestic Casual in 2018 which was easily her most personal and profound material to date. Get ready get lost.
MURKAGE DAVE
Norhtern Soul got a long lasting tradition in the British music scene and Manchester plays an important part in the movement (showing that it got way more to offer than all the iconic indie music bands). Leytonstone-born Murkage Dave is another fine example as he gives this soulful songs a more contemporary approach. And his fanbase already includes folks like Young Fathers, Skepta and The Streets‘ Mike Skinner which should definitely make you click the ‘play button’ on the following Murkage Dave vidoe.
