THE UNDERGROUND YOUTH seems to be Manchester’s answer to the current psych revival. On their upcoming sixth album, The Perfect Enemy For God, frontman Craig Dyer and his band tread between a heady mix of shoegaze and psychedelic rock, pulling together the raw sounds of past genres and presenting them in a new light that equals in both a sinister and angelic nature. Influenced by THE VELVET UNDERGROUND, THE BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE, SPACEMEN 3, the ballads of BOB DYLAN and the noise of THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN, THE UNDERGROUND YOUTH combines post-punk, psychedelic and raw garage sounds with a hauntingly beautiful twist.
To celebrate the release of their new album NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION presents the band’s Album Release Party on the 2nd August at Auster Club, Berlin.
The Perfect Enemy For God is now available for pre-order via Fuzz Club. The vinyl is limited to 300 copies. 100 of these are on frosted clear vinyl and exclusive to the Fuzz Club store. To get in the right mood for the band’s first gig in Berlin listen to some tracks from THE UNDERGROUND YOUTH below, including the band’s first single from the new LP, Rodion.
Before the British 3-piece get on stage the young Berlin based duo THE ODD COUPLE will hit you with an energetic mix of garage, psych & surf rock. If you dig the sounds of BLACK KEYS or THE KILLS these two young lads will blow your mind! So hope to see you rock out with us on the 2nd August at Auster Club, Berlin!
