SHARON JONES is back! Last year her new album Give The People What They Want was planned to be released, but was re-scheduled since SHARON was diagnosed cancer. Now that she found back to health, the album got finally released the singer is on tour with the almighty DAP-KINGS. Last night SHARON JONES & THE DAP-KINGS played Berlin’s club Astra. NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION was there to find out about soul, funk and happiness.
Although JONES sings ‘I’m a stranger to my happiness’, she brought happiness to the completely packed and sold-out location. A comeback that couldn’t be more impressive and adorable. She and her backing band gave (& give) people what they want, right like the album title promises. If you never saw them live, we’d like to highly recommend to finally do so. Even if you usually are neither into soul nor funk: it is an amazing experience to see SHARON JONES live. A show full of energy, passion… and happiness. No matter if you want or not: you’ll dance… and be happy. No matter if you are into soul or not: you’ll instantly fall in love with it once you experienced this charismatic and impressing singer and her band live. Highly recommended!
