Berlin-born singer and songwriter Gwen Dolyn breathes new life into the ragged Neue Deutsche Welle scene. Together with the band Toyboys the artist is about to release her next single "GIRLSCOUT" an unapologetic testament to female desire, that is as cheeky and fun as it is deep and existential. Ahead of the release, we caught up with Gwen Dolyn for this week's Introducing Feature.

The Berlin-based singer and songwriter Minoa, aka Ina Klos, just delivered her debut record "Forward, Backward, Start Again" with the confidence of an artist who is records deep into their career. We got to know the singer, her approaches to songwriting, and updated our Introducing Playlist with some of her gems.

Genesis is the act of creation in religious writing. Berlin-based artist K.ZIA used her recently released debut record for the creation of her own universe. Embracing Congolese and Martinique-an roots, she moves between groovy Afro-Beat and smooth RnB through the voice of two different personas on the album. NBHAP author Liv Toerkell caught up with the artist to find out more about her artistic expression.

Magic Island is the moniker of the producer and artist Emma Czerny. The Canadian made Berlin her hometown ten years ago but the confinement of the pandemic made her rediscover her neighborhood. Working off the theme of questioning what you think you already know, her new album "So Wrong" is a collection of songs influenced by her life in Neukölln. NBHAP author Liv Toerkell went for a walk with Emma in the city streets that she calls home.

The Strokes are back with a couple of intimate European shows and a soon-released new album. NBHAP author Louisa attended their concert in Berlin and noticed some indie uprooting.

Berlin is an inspirational Mekka for many pursuing a creative line of work. Yet, regarding the local garage and punk scene the ground could be richer. Nevertheless, female power band, Gurr chose Berlin as their home base. The Duo gained international acclaim with their independently produced debut record In My Head and after extensive festival hopping and touring Laura Lee and Andreya Casablanca returned to Berlin.

Putting on a festival in 2019 comes along with a great deal of responsibilities. Lollapalooza Berlin, which celebrated its fifth edition this year, was back for a second consecutive round of music, art, fun and more at the Olympic Stadium and the Olympic Park and approximately 85,000 visitors each day. Quite a large number of guests that were ready to be entertained in all possible ways.

It's been a while so we decided to catch up with beloved musician Alice Phoebe Lou once again to talk with her about her life as a young independent artist, a free spirit and the progress behind her long awaited new studio album.
