LEN SANDER write tortured songs about love and relationships on layers of an aerial pop-electronica. The Zürich based band debuted last year with their first full length Phantom Garden with which she toured since then. The just released Saltlick EP consists of 4 intimate tracks, a bit more confident and dynamic than previous works. The narrative structure of the songs are much more single-formated. The style is more direct, and is most certainly fruit of her on-stage presence. NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION also got the chance to ask singer Blanka Inauen a few question:

Tell us a bit about the song? The story. And is it true?

There are two sides to the song. On the one side it’s about the high hopes and expectations that you have when you fall in love with someone that makes you happy. But it’s also a revenge song against the man that made you unhappy before. My lyrics are kind of my diary so it’s always based on my experiences.

What has changed for LEN SANDER since the full length dropped? How did you grow up as writers and performers?

Since the release of our debut Phantom Garden last year a lot has happened. We’ve released two EP’s and played lots of concerts. I am really proud to see that all of us are constantly evolving as musicians, performers and producers. I think that it is really important to learn and grow constantly, to not just ‘find your style’ and stay in it but to always approach different styles of music according to what you’re interested in right at that moment.

What’s next?

We want to play live as much as possible! And we’re already working on a vision for our next album.
