Ain’t no annual Reeperbahn Festival without a proper appearance by yours truly, NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION. Following great experiences back in 2015 and 2014 we’re very much looking forward to attend Germany’s most important showcase festival once again. Aside from being a big industry get together and ‘shaking hands’ event it’s also a great place to discover new musical talents.

The 2016 edition from September 21 to 24 will feature a variety of acts. There are a few old NBHAP favourites on board like Swedish indie rock darlings TIGER LOU, the almighty THE BOXER REBELLION, retro rave two-piece JAGWAR MA, gentle French synthpop trio CAMP CLAUDE, dreampo chanteuse SARAH P., crafted songwriter Konstantin Gropper and his band GET WELL SOON and plenty more. The entire line-up for 2016 and full ticket information can be found right here.

On top of that, NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION is thrilled to announce that we’ll be running our very own stage at the Reeperbahn Festival 2016. Yes, for the first time our expertise teams up with this stunning event. And what better place could we have picked than the building which gave Hamburg’s St. Pauli neighbourhood its famous name? We’ll bring you three tender singer/songwriter performances straight to the church of St. Pauli (which was built in 1833) on the event’s final day, September 24. Perfect music to calm you down after four days of partying and drinking (or, well, setting you up for a final night). Here’s who you can expect.

Schmieds Puls

Performing 7.50 pm – 8:35 pm

The gloomy pop songs and the acoustic jazz elements this Austrian three-piece is bringing with them are the perfect sound to set the mood straight for the evening at the church. SCHMIEDS PLUS deliver songs for the twilight with leading lady Mira Lu Kovacs almost recalling PORTISHEAD‘s Beth Gibbons in certain moments. Their latest LP goes by the name I Care A Little Less About Everything Now and we’re looking forward to hear the sinister anthems from them live on the NBHAP stage.

Saint Sister

Performing 9.10 pm – 9.50 pm

If ARCADE FIRE‘s Will Butler is on board it can’t be too bad right? He hired SAINT SISTER as support a while ago and we’re also happy to have Morgan MacIntyre and Gemma Doherty on that Saturday night. Within an instant you sense the Celtic vibes of their Irish home country but these two are also very eager to have a lot of contemporary elements in their sound. The result is pretty delicate, we must say. Get ready to fall for these two.

Laura Gibson

Performing 10.35 pm – 11.30 pm

We’re still very much in love with LAURA GIBSON‘’s ultra smooth Empire Builder lyric video which you can find below once again. The accompanying album by the same name is also one of the finer releases of 2016 so far. Back in April we wrote ‘Fans of high quality singer/songwriter pop should risk a click on the ‘play’ button.’ and we can only repeat these words and look forward to bring you LAURA GIBSON live on stage which will hopefully result in quite a hypnotic folk music experience.

Fil Bo Riva

Performing 00.10 am – 01.00 am

We’re always thrilled for artists whose vita reads like a pan-european fairytale. Especially if they bring a voice and power on stage like FIL BO RIVA does: The half-Italian spend times of his life in Rome, Dublin and lately Berlin where he ultimately decided to focus on his music. His music, right: expect a passionate performer with a voice sounding like its been shaped by years of smoke, booze and badly heated/air-conditioned stages.

Don’t forget to RSVP for the evening also via Facebook.
