Okay, we lost track by now with the state of acclaimed alternative rap duo DEATH GRIPS. First, they officially split up in the summer of 2014, then they mysteriously teased possible new material back in February and now they actually announced it. Via their Facebook page the duo confirmed a new album that goes by the name Bottomless Pit. The announcement came in combination with video footage of the late actress Kate Blank which you can watch below. The clip also comes with the following statement.
Iconic 70’s film star Karen Black passed away in August 2013. In February of that year, Karyn Rachtman introduced Ms. Black to Zach Hill. The two immediately hit it off. Zach had written a part for Karen for a film he was developing and gave her the pages for her scenes. Though she didn’t know how the scenes would fit into the final film, she readily agreed to read her character’s dialog on camera for Zach.
No words yet on when to expect the new DEATH GRIPS record but like we know these guys it could happen anytime soon.
