Little Boots - Better In The Morning - Video

Context?

Victoria Hesketh aka LITTLE BOOTS is the working class hero of British electropop. At least, that’s what her forthcoming third album Working Girl is trying to tell us. On it the charismatic singer combines her own biography with an ironic look at the working ethics of the modern world. She’s an independent woman and therefore she’s running her own business. And that requests to never fall out of character – even if it’s the walk home on the morning after a night of of drunken sex, right?

Why Should I Watch This?

Because Better In The Morning is really about that infamous ‘walk of shame’ back home. And LITTLE BOOTS managed to combine it with an artistic twist as she explains: ‘I loved the idea of tying it in with the ‘Working Girl’ album theme, that this girl can go out all night and still get to work on time looking chic hide her hangover and still smash the day!’ Hesketh furthermore explains: ‘The idea for the video came from a kind of mash up of Cher from Clueless’ computerized wardrobe and those mix-and-match flip books I remember from being a kid. Combined with my ongoing obsession with gifs, shades of beige and dressing up like a yuppie, Nova Dandon (the director) was on completely on the same page as me.’ It’s colourful, cute and a truly stylish video clip, we must say.

Anything Else?

The follow-up to 2013’s Nocturnes album is set for a release on July the 10th via Heskteh’s very own imprint On Repeat. The all-buzzing Grammy-winning producer Ariel Rechtshaid worked on it but mostly it’s an album by LITTLE BOOTS about LITTLE BOOTS, underlining her status as independent and creative artist.
