Acclaimed slowcore songwriter Liz Harris and her alter ego GROUPER are about to return with a new album this fall. Ruins is the name of the record that follows last year’s he Man Who Died In The Boat. It is set for a release on October 31 via Kranky. According to the Portland-based artist the songs were mostly written back in 2011 with one exception from 2004.
Harris furthermore says about the record: ‘The album is a document. A nod to that daily walk. Failed structures. Living in the remains of love. I left the songs the way they came (microwave beep from when power went out after a storm); I hope that the album bears some resemblance to the place that I was in.’
First music from the new GROUPER record might be also arriving soon. In the meantime enjoy Towers from her last album right here.
