Jazz Boulevard 2014There’s something about Jazz music that makes it quite resistant against a lot of contemporary trends and hypes. No matter how consistent the musical landscape is changing, Jazz music always remains, evolves and quite often returns in a form you didn’t originally expect it to return. Earlier this year, NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION already attended the XJazz Festival in Berlin which combined classical jazz with electronic elements. For those who want to dig a bit deeper into the roots of the genre the German capital now offers a brand new event.

From August 25 to August 30 the Jazz Boulevard Festival invites guests to experience the fascination of Jazz music during the course of six days. Home of the brand new event marks the Berlin district of Steglitz. From August 25 on visitors can see national and international artists performing at the Boulevard Berlin and the highlight will be the final open air concert on Saturday, the 30th at the Harry-Breslau-Park. And did we already mention the best part of it? The event itself is for free.

So what can you expect during these couple of days? Well, obviously a lot of musical talent. From Monday to Friday the Boulevard Berlin will showcase three promising acts each night, starting from 5pm on. It will feature artists like BRUE BREAD, BE BOP or SIENNA. And on the final day, everybody is invited to spend a smooth summer day at the Harry-Breslau-Park from 10am on. Highlights here will be Berlin’s legendary jazz outfit JAZZANOVA and the famous Danish singer GITTE HAENNING with her band. And besides that the Jazz Boulevard offers something for the whole family, including plenty of delicious food, a bouncing castle or even the chance to ride a mechanical bull. But all in all it’s about the music and enjoying its captivating flow. No matter if you’re a big jazz fan or not – if you’re in town you should definitely be around.
