Beloved Belgian vegetal noise project THOT has been a longtime favourite of NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION. Some of you know might know that by now. For almost a decade the band around mastermind Grégoire Fray constantly provides an eclectic and ambitious own concept of contemporary industrial rock. It’s actually kind of hard to put just once single label on the sound of THOT. It’s highly emotional and packed with plenty of great things to discover. Their latest album The City That Disappears was released earlier this year and we highly recommend you to listen to it.
The guys from THOT just returned from an extended fall tour through Europe and are now sharing the music that accompanied the trip in form of an exclusive NBHAP Guestmix. Here’s what Mr. Fray has to tell about his selection: ‘This mix is a collection of tunes I’ve been listening to during THOT’s fall tour, crossing France, Germany, Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. From ethereal jazz to dark post-hardcore, from folk to electronic, these songs became kinda the “motion picture soundtrack” of every moments that I shared with my beloved band and crew.’
Just the right sound for the impending winter, we think. So grab yourself a warm cup of tea, crank up the volume and follow this Belgian gentleman into a world of sound.
