Foals tease their new album with short video
It looks like we’re slowly but steady approaching the official announcement of the long awaited new FOALS album. Yannis Philippakis and his band just a really short teaser video with the title ‘Foals forever.’ And you can even here a bit of music from the follow-up to 2013’s Holy Fire in it. Björk shares epic 10-minute long ‘Black Lake’ video
Icelandic pop goddess BJÖRK has shared a new music video for the track Black Lake, taken off this year’s album Vulnicura. And while the last clip for Stonemilker as technically quite special this one is just epic. It was directed by Andrew Thomas Huang and features BJÖRK performing in the always impressive landscape of her homecountry. Watch it right here.
HEALTH share new track ‘Stonefist’
American noise-rock collective HEALTH has shared Stonefist, a new track off their upcoming album Death Magic. Previously the group already unleashed New Coke as a first teaser off the forthcoming record. Death Magic is the first HEALTH album in five years and it will be released on the August 7th via Fiction Records (UK) and Loma Vista Recordings (US), including 12 new songs. Stonefist already shows what we can expect – it’s a dark and pumping banger that directly kicks in your guts. Listen here.
Daft Punk documentary ‘Daft Punk Unchained’ released in late June
While we still wait for new music by French robots DAFT PUNK we are about to experience them in the TV soon in form of Daft Punk Unchained, the first ever documentary movie about the successful duo. It will be premiered on 24 June at 8:50pm on Canal+ in France, directed by Hervé Martin Delpierre. The documentary will feature old and new interview footage, including appearances by Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers, Kanye West, Michel Gondry and many more. We’ll keep you update on further news about this new DAFT PUNK creation.
Lower Dens cover ‘Maneater’ by Hall & Oates
Charismatic singer Jana Hunter and her dreampop band LOWER DENS visited SiriusXMU and delivered a haunting cover version of the legendary HALL & OATES classic Maneater. The band recently also included that version in their live shows. Don’t forget to read Hunter’s great essay about the importance of individuality she wrote earlier this year for NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION. The band’s new album Escape From Evil is out now.
