As a longtime follower of NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION you know that we love new music in general and from Sweden especially. So, when asked to join the jury of the beloved Berlin showcase event Die Neuen Schweden in 2020 we didn’t think twice. Now, we know that it’s kind of weird to plan a live music event in the (late) summer of 2020 but this year’s Corona crisis has proven to be quite dynamic on many levels. As far as we know the whole thing could be horribly worse by the end of September or more or less gone. It will probably be a compromise in the end but trust us – we and the organizers of the event will monitor the situation and pandemic development on a regular basis, currently believing that we’ll be able to pull off a live event under safe circumstances.

Apart from the actual showcase on September 30 at Urban Spree the three new acts are also invited to a “Music Industry Crawl” throughout the city as they are getting to know the industry, certain players and aspects a bit better. Some of this will happen in a digital way, some of it in the so called ‘real life’. We are very happy to have picked three really great new acts for you to be part of Die Neuen Schweden. There is afrobeat/ dancehall artist Aurelia Dey who’s bringing an electrifying mixture of genres to the stage, a sound that is loaded with energy and there’s something really captivating here. Majorelle Blue from Malmö are also part of the line-up, delivering sun-drenched retro-pop with fuzzy guitars and that special lo-fi vibe we always fall for. And they are naming their next EP Nostalgic Porn which really underlines their coolness. Last but not least, Mira Aasma from Stockholm will come by who we featured a few times before here on NOTHING BUT AND PASSION, so we’re happy to have her shimmering dream pop live on stage in Berlin at last. It’s free entrance so mark that day in your calender because maybe we’ll be able to celebrate the return of live music at last. We all deserve this and these young talents espec
