Who is it?
In 2014, ZOLA BLOOD made quite an impression with their debut single Grace. It surely was a highly melodic electronica-infused pop song which was followed by the equally valuable EP Meridian. Since then, the London-based quartet has put out several promising tunes off their upcoming full-length, including Good Love and Islands.
Why should you listen to it?
Nothing is minimalist electro pop at its best. Matt West’s dreamy voice occasionally reminding of A-HA’s Morten Harket and THOM YORKE over a rather dark soundscape and the circling yet climaxing structure of the track instantly lead your thoughts away from whatever they were dealing with before – and lines like ‘You’re my nightmare and my dream’ add to the thrilling atmosphere leaving you eager for more.
What’s next?
If you’re as drawn to ZOLA BLOOD’s slick beats as we are, calm down: The release of Nothing was accompanied by the announcement of a debut album. Infinite Games will come out on May 26th via Pond Life. Stay tuned!
