He’s without any doubt one of music business’ most busiest people – DAMON ALBARN. Currently on a reunion run with britpop legends BLUR he’s also preparing his first ever solo album with original material. As the musician just confirmed in an interview with Rolling Stone, he did just finished the longplayer with the help of XL label boss Richard Russell. He described it as a ‘folk soul’ album.
Details on the release are still to follow but ALBARN is already hinting a solo tour on which he will also play material by his other bands GORILLAZ and BLUR. And speaking of these guys – he also confirmed that the group is, indeed, recording new material but it is too early to say when it will be released although he hints that “we might make the record in a week.” Exciting times ahead for all DAMON ALBARN fans, that much is for sure.
