A NIGHTHAWK is a Swedish trio comprised of Ted Malmros of SHOUT OUT LOUDS on bass and percussion, Sarah Snavely of DAG FÖR DAG on voice, synth, drones, bass, violin and guitar and Victor Hvidfeldt on drums. They’ve already put out two EPs on Swedish superstar collective/label INGRID (LYKKE LI, PETER, BJÖRN AND JOHN and many more), but have decided to go it alone for the release of their debut album, Ice In The Belly, Fire In The Mind, choosing to release it on their own label/ collective (wonder where they got the idea?) Dead Dandelion Collective. And now they’re giving their fans a taste of that album with new single Dune.
Dune is loaded with a nervous, paranoid intensity, Snavely’s vocals rub against the warp and distortion of the production to produce a burning, corroded take on synthpop. The track summons up a sense of a certain type of night, when time starts to blur and a hard edge of anxiety starts to set in. Ice In The Belly, Fire In The Mind arrives on February 26th.
