It’s been way to long since we heard new music by beloved Swedish dreampop songwriter Sarah Assbring and her alter ego EL PERRO DEL MAR. Now, the the artist makes a surprising return with her cover of the legendary RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS ballad Breaking The Girl. It’s her first new music since 2014’s Våroffer (Alla Vill Ha) and the LP Pale Fire which dates back to 2012. The cover was originally planned to be part of the album.
In a statement Assbring explains:
Here’s an early xmas gift for you!
I made my version of Red Hot Chili Pepper’s “Breaking The Girl” for my last album Pale Fire. It never made it onto the album but I thought it’d be nice as a giveaway for Xmas 2015.
We all need something sweet in these dark days don’t we?
