Australian pop duo EMPIRE OF THE SUN is back! The duo just announced their return in form of a second studio album entitled Ice On The Dune. The highly anticipated follow-up to their successful 2009 debut Walking On A Dream is set for a release in June. The pressure is high for Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore since their debut was surprisingly successful and the band gained more attention than their previous day job bands PNAU and THE SLEEPY JACKSON.
Steele on the challenge of a sophomore record: “In the end what has driven us is the same as the first record which is music that makes people feel excited and want to get up in the morning. But oh yeah, we felt the pressure. I had never experienced fame before, and I don’t think in Australia, people realised how many places this record travelled.” A new show is currently prepared by EMPIRE OF THE SUN. Already today they tease us with a quite blockbuster-like trailer for the album. No coincidence as it was produced by Bad Robot, the company by JJ Abrams, director of the upcoming new Star Wars movies. Check it our below.
