No doubt, this year’s US election was emotionally loaded and its result left a lot of people frustrated. Josh Tillman aka FATHER JOHN MISTY is another one and he recently started to actively address political issues on his Facebook profile, resulting in a lot of interesting discussions with his fans (who are not all up for the political talk, it seems).
The last days of discussion now resulted in Holy Hell, a new piano ballad which expresses Tillman’s frustration with the current political landscape of his home country. And although there’s a lot of grief within the song it actually ends on a hopeful note as he sings: ‘The world won’t end unless we want it to/There’s no one in control/And it’s our life to choose’. Holy Hell is the first new FATHER JOHN MISTY material since this spring’s Real Love Baby and last year’s I Love You, Honeybear.
