British indietronic band HOT CHIP premiered a cover version of Atomic Bomb, a song by African synth artist WILLIAM ONYEABOR. And just in case you weren’t familiar with him – he was an influential artist back in the 70s and early 80s, mixing Western synthesizer sounds with African rhythms.
Last year Luaka Bop, the label of DAVID BYRNE, already released a compilation with his music, now comes a special tribute album for Record Store Day. It features reworks by acts like JOAKIM, DAPHNI or THE VACCINES. HOT CHIP participate in the form of Atomic Bomb. Listen to their quite interesting cover version right.
