It was pretty obvious that the forthcoming 58th Grammy Awards on February 15 will feature a DAVID BOWIE tribute. Now, the producers of the event announced the surprising act who is responsible for the musical tribute: LADY GAGA will perform a ‘experiential tribute’ under the musical direction of former BOWIE collaborator Nile Rodgers of CHIC. The press release explains the choice:
‘Affording audiences a chance to experience Bowie’s music once again, the tribute will be a multisensory testament to the icon’s incredible artistry and a reflection of his limitless creativity.’
Grammys executive producer Ken Ehrlich furthermore states in a press release: ‘We immediately spoke and agreed that she should be the one to honor David. She’s perfect for it. So I reached out to Nile and, before long, we were on our way to creating what we believe will not only make a great GRAMMY Moment, but one befitting of David.’ We’re definitely looking forward for this to happen. Here is LADY GAGA talking about her love for the Thin White Duke.
