Now, that’s what you call a Swedish supergroup, right? Acclaimed singer LYKKE LI has formed a new band called LIV which sees her duetting with Andrew Wyatt from MIIKE SNOW. His bandmate Pontus Winnberg is also on board as well aas Björn Yttling of PETER BJORN AND JOHN and producer Jeff Bhasker who also happens to be LYKKE LI‘s boyfriend. The first two songs arrive in the form of the summerly Wings Of Love and the tender Dream Awake which are both up for stream below. A full album is expected to be out soon.

In an interview with Loaded Andrew Wyatt explains the origins of the band which come from a joint tour back in 2008.:

‘We’ve been friends a long time. During that tour, Lykke and I would do a cover of Kings Of Leon’s ‘Knocked Up’, and we realised then how well our voices worked together… We’ve carried on singing together since then. We’ve always been tight friends since we met. I love Lykke, she’s like a sister to me. We’ve talked about doing a record together for a long time, and now we’ve finally done it.’

The first LIV music video for the lead single, directed by LYKKE LI. The colorful clip spreads pure hippie feeling as it showcases nude people running through the woods. The singer describes the video as ‘an ode to the Swedish summer’ which seems quite fitting. Watch it below Dream Awake.
