PINS - Young Girls - Video

Context?

We’ve been following the four ladies from PINS for quite a while now, long before their joyful 2013 debut Girls Like Us. The women from Manchester bring up sweet lo-fi flavour with ‘retro flair’ and just the right attitude to make it in show biz. Now, the band is preparing its second album Wild Nights for a release via Bella Union on June 8 and we couldn’t be happier about that fact. You hopefully too, right?

Why Should I Watch This?

Because the video for Young Girls takes us right into the hometown hood of the girls as they explain: ‘Filmed in Manchester and at favourite look out point ‘The Edge’ in Alderly Edge. The video is the tale of four girls, thick as thieves. They are dreamers, they are bold and they are bonded by a secret. All for one and one for all.’ Director Amy Watson also had that girl gang theme in mind although she explains: ‘I wanted to take that wholesomeness and push it to a weird place.’ So, let’s just say it’s a dark alternative draft to the good-old fashioned Girls Just Wanna Have Fun idea, right?
