Since the global success of The Force Awakens the Star Wars legacy is back with full force, inspiring a whole new generation of cinema visitors and also artists. And although this news might sound weird it absolutely makes sense as producer guru Rick Rubin has announced the relase of Star Wars Headspace, a new sampler which he curated, featuring original music by contemporary artists that is inpsired by the Star Wars universe.

The compilation features contributions by RÖYKSOPP, A-TRAK, SHLOHMO and FLYING LOTUS. The latter now premiered his new song R2, Were R U? via Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show. You can listen to it below unter the album’s impressive tracklist. Star Wars Headspace will be released on February 19 digitally and March 18 in physical formats via Hollywood Records/American Recordings. May the force be with us all.
