Legendary British shoegaze band SLOWDIVE reformed back in early 2014, followed by a few live dates all over the world. Now, it lookis like the reunion will finally result in new music. Singer Rachel Goswell confirmed in a new interview with Stereogum that her band is currently working on the follow-up to 1995 Pygmalion. She states that the band got plenty of songs and the album is ‘being recorded right now as we speak’. She furthermore adds:
‘The guys have been in the studio for the last couple of days doing some drum and bass tracks. We did quite a lot of recording last year. It’s quite difficult because we’ve all got children and we all live in different parts of the country. As you get older, it is quite a challenge.’
Still, Mrs. Goswell is ‘hoping to get it finished by the end of July.’ Looks like everything is set up for the full SLOWDIVE soon. Goswell will also release the self-titled debut of MINOR VICTORIES on June 3, featuring members of MOGWAI (Stuart Braithwaite) and EDITORS (Justin Lockey).
