Rich Marchin and  Ian Glover’s project SOULSAVERS have long been on the verge of being underestimated. That definitely changed with their last two collaborative albums with DEPECHE MODE‘s Dave Gahan, The Light That Dead See and the most recent Angels & Ghosts. But SOULSAVERS did not only morph into one of the most favourable collaborators around; Nope, Rich Marchin’s a man with an artistic vision of its own accord. The latest result of his work with Glover is an instrumental concept record about the director Stanley Kubrick, simply called Kubrick, which came out earlier this month and centers on specific characters from Kubrick’s films. The song HAL, obviously, is based upon the HAL 9000 computer on board of the famous 2001: A Space Odyssey spaceship.

It seems just like another perfect match that the legendary Kompakt records founder WOLFGANG VOIGT now laid his crafted hands on the track, sending it even way more out there then the original, more orchestral, piece already did. We are honoured and glad to be able to present to you the splendid HAL in the Wolfgang Voigt Pop Ambient Mix exclusively right here on NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION. Seriously. SOULSAVERS, WOLFGANG VOIGT and Kubrick all in one place? Just lay back and enjoy.
