Okay, to be fair, NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION avoided the whole subject so far but now we can’t stay silent anymore as the level of ridiculousness just reached a higher level. Okay, so beloved singer/songwriter Mark Kozelek aka SUN KIL MOON seems to have a problem with his American colleague Adam Granduciel and his band THE WAR ON DRUGS. It all started back in mid-September at the Ottawa Folk Fest. Back then Kozalek and his band had problems playing the stage due to the sound bleed from Granduciel’s stage. Kozelek later challenged THE WAR ON DRUGS to perform a song with him on stage, entitled ‘War On Drugs: Suck My Cock/Sun Kil Moon: Go Fuck Yourself’ but Granduciel refused. Well, and that’s the short version.
It’s a bit like a tiny, even more ridiculous version of a classical MORRISSEY rant, we must say. And it looks like both artists take the whole thing a bit too seriously, we think. After all, they released great albums earlier this year. Go check out SUN KIL MOON‘s wonderful Benji and THE WAR ON DRUGS‘ epic Lost In The Dream instead of caring too much about that feud.
