Only a few more weeks before it’s Tutti Frutti time in Berlin, folks! And by that we don’t mean a pre-Christmas creation of a fruit salad but the third edition of Berlin’s fancy one-night only event, supported by yours truly, NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION. The evening itself will provide tropical sounds, psychedelic grooves and funky beats straight from the city’s underground and into your heart. And we’re pretty sure, Norwegian pop prodigy Jakob Ogawa will be one highlight of the festival.
If you’re not convinced of the young gentleman by now, get ready to get convinced in the form of his new music video Next To Me which we are debuting today. For the clip Ogawa has teamed up with Chile-based Columbian director Alejandro Tarfurth, using found footage to highlight the nostalgic and delicate love story we are witnessing. In the words of the songwriter:
I’ve been a fan of Alejandro Tarfurth for a while. We wanted to do something together, and «Next To Me» felt good. Its kind of a continuation of the homage to East Asian cinema and the New Taiwanese Cinema style. And, we’re still on bikes ❤ I vibe with what Alejandro has done with the video. His story-telling and colorful imagery does something quite bittersweet for the song.
Jakob Ogawa is also heading on a small tour soon. Find the dates below the new video and don’t forget to get your ticket for Tutti Frutti Fest #3 on December 9 in Berlin via KOKA 36 or Love Your Artist.
