It’s quite fascinating that the music of Brian Fennell’s latest EP In My Body was crafted from his basement recording studio in the small town of Issaquah, WA outside Seattle. The sound of his alter ego SYML doesn’t sound like a simple bedroom production, but delivers tender yet very quite epic songwriter folk, driven by his vital piano play. The War, the closing track of In My Body is a perfect example for that notion. It’s a gentle an emotional journey, starting with the words ‘Here stands a man at the bottom of a hole he’s made’. The cinematic appeal of the track now also gets supported by this stunning music video, directed and produced by Gavin Michael Booth. Fennell on this creative collaboration:

‘This story is beautiful but has an undertone of sadness and unrest. I have loved working with Gavin because it think our minds and hearts both see the world through a dark but beautiful lens.’

The War follows two lovers whose romantic relationship seems to constantly face an unknown threat, making it appear restless and somehow doomed from the start. Of course, you are happily invited to find out for yourself whether this turns out to be true as NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION gives you the world premiere of the new SYML music video right here in all of its wonderful glory. And don’t forget to catch the man with the magnificent voice on his forthcoming tour dates which you can find below the clip.
