There was a lot of back and forth going on until two weeks before the scheduled date the good news came along: the German Maifeld Derby festival will take place at the first September weekend. NBHAP author Miriam took the spontaneous chance to visit her first festival in two years and to find out – together with some artists – how a festival in times of an ongoing pandemic would feel like.
Parallel to the film festival, Berlinale, several local organisations are organising a counter-program. Falastin Cinema Week is hosted by Refuge Worldwide, AL.Berlin, Jewish Bund, Diaspora Rising and many others. From 17 to 21st of February, you can experience film screenings, talks, and art exploring Palestinian histories and decolonial narratives.
