One ticket to give you free entrance to the hottest concert venues in Berlin? Sounds like a fair deal and in the case of the Berlin Independent Night you’ll also get a fine selection of national and international up and coming artists who perform in eight clubs along the always hip districts of Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain.
The sixth installment of the Berlin Independent Night is about to happen next weekend, on September the 26th, featuring a hand-picked selection. And we give you guidance and free tickets as we present you our 5 tips from the line-up and offer you the chance to win a pair of tickets. Please note: the competition is now closed!
Berlin Independent Night Tip #1: Wanda
So, we told you about these Austrian gentlemen before in our special of recommendable German-singing bands. The hyped ‘austro pop revival’ shootingstars are touring the country up and down the whole year while also releasing their anticipated second album Bussi next month. Whereever WANDA perform it’s a triumphant evening that showcases their excentric live qualities. Even if you don’t speak one word of German this is highly enteraining.
Berlin Independent Night Tip #2: Quiet Company
The band from Austin delivers a truly alternative programm as they deliver a haunting mixture of WILCO-infected Neo-Americana and sweet catchiness of indie bands like DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE. QUIET COMPANY will bring the powerful sweetness of last year’s longplayer Transgressor to the stages of Berlin and you should not miss it.
Berlin Independent Night Tip #3: Lucy Rose
British singer/songwriter LUCY ROSE is not an insider tip anymore, that much is for sure. Ever since the 26-year old artist released her first material four years ago she became a darling in the indie scene and always a heart-wrenching live experience. Her second studio album Work It Out arrived this summer and you can experience it live on Berlin.
Berlin Independent Night Tip #4: Cajsa Siik
Swedish singer CAJSA SIIK is a longtime favourite of NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION and we featured the young lady multiple times before. So, it’s obvious to include her in this list as the charismatic musician presents haunting and intelligent indie pop with a lovely dark undertone that is kind of irresistible.
Berlin Independent Night Tip #5: Vita Bergen
Although it looks like William Hellström and Robert Jallinder are only a two-piece band there’s far more behind Swedish band VITA BERGEN than you might think first. On stage the duo is joined by countless musicians, resulting in an excessive live experience that can be described best as Sweden’s answer to ARCADE FIRE. Expect big anthems in the cozy setting of Kreuzberg’s Lido.
