In this vague and hard-to-define musical trend of ‘future R&B’ Swiss producer PABLO NOUVELLE remains a constant deliver of quality material ever since he released is self-titled debut album back in 2013. Now, with his second album All I Need he might take that concept even further. Instead of building up his tracks from samples of old records like he did on the debut the sound of the organic human voice now marks the centre of PABLO NOUVELLE‘s music in 2016. And if you don’t know how that whole idea of this mysterious sub genre might sound like, All I Need could provide the desired answer.
‘It was important to me that I had a broad palette of differently coloured voices available to me,’ the musician explains in a press release, ‘Almost every song has a different voice. Here and there they are used almost like samples, with only a short dash to hint at a certain mood. It was important to me to create a strong feeling of space and mood.’
Before you can get your hands on the new PABLO NOUVELLE record (out on January 29) we asked the man himself to give a more detailed insight into his current musical taste and the sound that partly also inspired All I Need. The result is one our of electronic sweetness that will definitely shake off your Monday blues, trust us. According to the producer this is ‘a broad collection of songs that not only accompanied me through 2015, but have a certain timelessness that makes it worth to listen to them also in 2016.’ You can enjoy the whole NBHAP Guestmix right here and take a look at the tracklist below.
