The Master Musicians of Jajouka… just one puzzle piece in the diversified By The Lake line-up

Well, we from NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION clearly are far too often and that’s only one reason why we teamed up with the second edition of the By the Lake Festival in 2016 which will happen on August 6 and 7 at Berlin’s district Weißensee. The other reason is its ambitious concept and the event’s love for diversified and surprised artists. The loved-based curation of the By the Lake Festival is no surprise since the people who run the web radio ‘The Lake’ are taking care of the bands. And yes, that’s the members of beloved Danish art pop darlings EFTERKLANG.

Another convincing argument comes in form of the event’s venues. The open air theatre in Weißensee got this sweet and classic charm while the local lido aka the ‘Strandbad Weißensee’ is a wonderful second venue to enjoy a smooth summer weekend. Whether it’s dancing into the sunset or listening and relaxing on a sunlounger, By the Lake Festival offers itself to become the best of beach parties. Bringing your bathing attire is highly recommended!
The first wave of this year’s line-up is packed with a lot of sweet surprises and interesting artists once again. How about some Moroccan sufi trance music with THE MASTER MUSICIANS OF JAJOUKA? Why not joining a cosmic machine-led psychedelia in an analogue sci-fi pop heaven with CAVERN OF ANTI-MATTER? Or hot and buzzing XL Recordings signing LISS? Or the long awaited return of the fantastic COLD SPECKS? Seriously, even legendary lounge pop heroes LAID BACK will show up to light up your summer weekend. Yes, that’s the guys who brought you Sunshine Reggae and Bakerman back in the 1980s.
