Why only showing one side when there can be two aspects of any form of art? Norwegian electronic producer TORGNY dares the experiment and combines two musical worlds you usually might not name in one sentence. E-funking dance grooves from the early 80s team up with tender and strong female vocals. Grooving synthie basslines team up with NICOs distinctive organ. It’s “Female V(o)ices and Electro Jams” – our latest NBHAP Guestmix.
If you are not that familiar yet with TORGNY K. ADAM you might take your chance to get to know this man better. Following his Norwegian colleaques LINDSTRØM and TODD TERJE this man combines Scandinavia’s love for melodic moments with fancy disco grooves. Gloom and glamour going hand in hand basically. Oil Panic is the name of his new longplayer and it’s about to get released on January the 31st. And you can already spot material off it in this selection.
And if you want to know more about TORGNY‘s special concept for his mix, here’s what he has to say about it: “I like juxtaposition – in talk and in music. Don’t we all? The idea was to contrast the percussive electro tracks I had chosen from 1980-1984 with a kind of female vocal presence from various genres and times. Maybe the tracks can be an invitation to think about my own sound, or parts of it, so far in my career. I hope you enjoy the playlist!”
