If you ever had the pleasure of seeing British indietronic three-piece WE HAVE BAND live you know that these guys always deliver a furious performance. It’s a dedication to dance and groove and so is their music as well. And even when it comes to compiling sounds the trio remains restless. That’s why their sparkling Guestmix for NOTHING BUT HOPE AND PASSION is packed with sweet dancefloor delicacies. WE HAVE BAND are about to release their new EP The Woods on April 26, following last year’s Movements album. You might have already seen the highly entertaining music video to its title track. The British trio chose a very special way of Vocal House for its selection as they explain to us:
‘It’s a vocal house music mix made with tracks that have vocal segments taken out of their original context or created to mimic this. The vocal clips range from the funny to spiritual to epic musings on life and just the plain ridiculous. There are clips of Nina Simone rambling on from her incredible Montreux Jazz Festival performance of 1976 in the John Grant track. There’s Martin Luther King’s ‘I Have A Dream’ speech in the ‘This is Acid’ track and there’s answering machine messages on Green Velvet’s ‘I Don’t Need This Shit’.
