We don’t wanna be nit-pick but doves aren’t able to cry due to emotional upset. Certainly it was just a metaphor. As everybody knows, doves are standing for peace (although almost everyone is complaining about the rats of the air, at the latest if their trash hides them). In When Doves Cry PRINCE has some trouble with his girl. That means the peace & love, which exist before is now gone, according to this the doves are crying. Even if it’s not possible under the law of nature, sorry to destroy your romanticize image of doves, but they are just able to use tears to clear debris from their eyes. That’s nature!
